Just as you switch the selector, have someone grab the pass wheel and rock
it 1/4 turn back and forth..they will feel the shift in the tranny very
clearly when it engages positively.

The switch from front-to-all drive required me to use a wrench on the hub
of the selector..it was locked into place a little firmer than I could
move by hand. But other than that..no big deal.

IN fact, its not difficult to move the selector and turn the wheel at the
same time. I'll video it next time on the rollers.

Or course, YMMV, this is just valuable info given to me from someone I
trust..who has done this sucessfully before. The 'spin the wheel' trick
is something the manual doesnt state..and appears to be the trick you need
to make it good.

Notes: See Toyota manual for transmission selector location.

Do NOT drive on the street this way.
