The reason why my car is taking so long,
Thu Aug 30, 2012 2:43 pm
When i got the car I had puzzled a lot of ideas on why it might not run, but one very big thing i liked about it was it still had the 1st gen engine. After deciding a lot of things i got the head rebuilt and am now currently in the process of rebuilding the stock Ct26 turbo. Also added to the repairs im making, the rear diff was coated in its own fluid and im replacing the seals on that. The rear sub frame has a decent amount of rust but not to much where im concerned, just repainting it. Unfortunately when i took it to my friends shop to get the head work done some of the people accidentally added a few more dents and scratches to the body, but its scheduled next spring for a complete new coat. Although i will add his shop did a great job especially for the price. I did get to drive the Celica around for a little while, but when all the smoke i felt i was always trying to lose someone. So that's when i took it to my driveway ripped out the turbo and ordered the parts. Within the next 2 weeks i should have the Celica back up and running.
