Best method to repair hood insulation

My hood insulation is falling apart, and resting on the manifold. Also burning.

What can I repair it with? I tried aluminum duct tape, and that just started to burn up.

Its been smoldering for a while now, I either need repair/replace or remove.

I don't know of any way to restore that stuff. When it got ratty on my old ST165 I just removed it. I didn't notice any adverse effect to anything from doing so. I didn't even notice a difference in engine noise.
