A/C issues

Finally getting back on the old girl. 91 alltrac. Latest prohect is getting the ac to work for the first since purchase in 2005. Where i am at. New dryer and orings. Vac the systen and holds pressure just fine. Problem is compressor wont kick on. Vac allowed me to add some freon but had to hot wire the conpressor to pull in more. Compressor clutch works fine and ac seems to work when hotwired. Abother issue is im using a huge bottle of r134a so gonna have to go off pressure in system as far as being full. Cant find that info. Also even after adding the freon it still wouldnt kick on. So jumpered the yellow and purple wires at ac pressure switch passenger side fire wall location. Still wouldnt kick on compressor. Not sure where to go from here. Bgb doesnt include ac for some reason.
