OIL COOLER GASKET/O RING DISCONTINUED, ALTERNATIVE?

Postby Anoo21 » Wed Nov 15, 2017 10:43 pm

I am replacing somethings in the cooler area and had to take the hard lines that connect to the oil cooler on the 3sgte.
Part # 15785-88380, obviously it is discontinued. Does anyone know or have an alternative? It looks like a crush washer. I will post a picture when I get home. Anything will help, I really do not know if I can reuse the old one. thanks guys

The link is to the image, I will try to post a picture of the actual washer.

If you get accurate measurements on the crush washers, you can look for a match online. Amazon sells sets of various size copper crush washers that may include what you need. Like this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0743BHJ9X/ref=sspa_dk_detail_1?psc=1

If you're in a hurry or can't get a good measurement, take a used crush washer and banjo bolt to your local auto parts store and ask the to help you find a close match.

If its a copper crush washer, and it is still in OK shape, you can anneal the copper. Do it by getting the washer red hot with a propane torch and quenching it in cold water. The copper will become super soft again. I do this all the time and it woks great.
