found where the leak is....i think..

Hey, whats up. Here recently i keep hearing a leak from the engine area, i thought it was a leak from my flexpipe but got it checked out, and that wasn't the problem. The mechanic pointed out that the popping sound/ leak was coming from under the intercooler. So today i took all of that off and checked out the exhaust manifold cus i've had that problem before with another celica, i didn't see any cracks or residue to qualify for an exhaust leak there, but what i did see was alot of oil buildup on the left side of the gasket cover right above the manifold. I'm also pretty sure thats where that noise it coming from. My question is would i most likely need to just change the gasket, or is there anything else that i should know? And how much work is involve to change the gasket/ and time length? thanks guys, gary MD

Are you sure it is exhaust leak not vacuum leak?

yeah, i'm pretty sure, when i rev the engine thats when it happens. How could i tell if its a vaccum leak? thanks, garymd
