1990 Celica ST185 JDM Engine/Transmission Parts

Postby r-town » Mon Aug 07, 2017 9:05 am

I have a ST185 JDM engine/transmission that was heavily abused. The head was rebuilt about three years ago and ARP head studs were used. The turbo is not good; it will need a rebuild. Transmission grinds in several gears (2nd to 3rd, etc). The reason I remove the engine is because it was running pretty bad (bad timing?) and had leaks everywhere.

Anyways, If anyone is interested in buying bits and pieces let me know.

Sold:

>> Turbo water inlet pipes sub-assembly
>> Oil cooler mounting bracket
>> Motor mounts

I don't see it pictured but in case you have it laying around, I'm looking for the turbo coolant inlet/outlet hard lines as well as the bracket that it bolts too which is secured to the wastegate actuator bracket. Shipping would be to 37060.

Is yours a single or two piece model? I found it, but the one I have is a single piece model (16027-88381):

Oh wow! I didn't know there was more than one type. . Although I have a two piece style, I would imagine either would work.

Maybe it's like this for years 90-91, and changed in years 92-93. If you think it'll fit (maybe someone can chip in on this), how does $20 plus shipping sound?

It fits in a USPS regional box (usually $10 dollar shipping). However, I've ran out those boxes, the next box is a medium flat rate box which is around ~$14. Let me know if you are interested.

Looking at it closely, the biggest differences I see between this and the two-piece is that the return is brazed/welded directly to the elbow (mine has a small section of hose connecting them) and the material they're made of. . . mine looks like stainless. I like the idea of this design better since there is no rubber to deteriorate by the elbow like mine did, although I wish it were stainless :( Regardless I think it's worth a try.

That sounds reasonable to me. Whenever you're ready, PM your email and I'll send a payment.

I'm interested in the rear mount bracket and speed sender unit... if it's the mechanical kind.

I think there are some aftermarket replacements on eBay for like $20. I think you are better off with that.

I have the rear mount bracket, but the speedometer is not good. The 90 degree elbow crapped out, and caused the input shaft to broken into pieces.

I bought that kit but I don't like it because of the hoses/connections. I was saving it for emergency use only.

That is of no consequence, I have extra elbows. I'll take that upper trans mount and bracket as well.

Looking for the oil cooler bracket, I'll take the whole thing if need be, but just looking for the lower bracket that bolts into the engine block. The threads on mine for the center bolt are cross threaded or something. How much? shipped to 02911

I'll remove the requested parts tomorrow, and take pictures to show condition. Will try to price the items, so that is favorable for both parties (not too familiar with pricing yet).
