One way to find out...

Most people over here know gtfour, and 3sgte. We don't deal much with alternate swaps and such.

I doubt it would fit for a fwd configuration. I would bet that if you cut ou and replaced the floor pan made the car rwd, and modified the firewall, then make custom mounts... it may fit.

For that much $$ just go buy a supra.

Will not fit transversely, like the stock engine did. As you know, it is an inline six, so it is quite a bit longer the the stock i4. If you were to convert to RWD, this swap would definitly work. Personally I am swapping a V8 into my 88 celica alltrac.

Eh? How far along have you gotten on this project? I haven't looked much into toyo V8's, but if that swap worked I would probably do it, I like the 3s-gte and all, but 4 added cylinders would do worlds for smoothness. Not to mention the added torque! Heck, if you have pics of this, start a thread, I'd be very interested to see how this progresses, since I also have an 88 :D

There's a guy in Australia with a 1uzfe out of a Soarer in his st185. It's not NA anymore, has a snail hanging off each manifold. It's REALLY packed in there, but it fits. I don't know if they had to move the firewall or not.

What blower are you going to Use ?
I was not aware That there was one available for the 1Uz ?
Adapting a GM style, hi top blower ? :-}
Would be Great for low end Grunt,
but a lot of tire smoke without using AWD ?
