you can do a alltrac conversion on a st184
theres a guy on youtube who did it
he put in a v6 with a 205 trans
then put the rear end in
but he had to put a fuel cell in it lol
how hes making it twin turbo lol

if i was going through the trouble of custom building a st184 into awd. i would beg the differ. with the work of putting in the driveshaft, subframe, differential, etc. i would just do a rwd conversion instead. with an longitudal mounted 3sgte and an altezza 6 speed trans and it will be set... much more work than converting awd, but well worth the effort ++1 for unique-ness... lolz

I have access to an USDM st185 with a Certificate of Destruction (Bad Title) and was wondering if it was worth buying for $3000(Asking Price).Reason being is I am inching closer to converting my ST184 that is already a Half-Trac (GT2) into a Healthy AWD. I have the Shop ready to do all the cutting and welding of the Floor, R-n-R all the necessary components to my ST184, but was wondering if $3000 for a parts(st185) was worth $3000. Thanks

What would be a decent offer for a salvage all trac? Just that I can't get Blue Book Value on this particular car and I'm stumped as to what is a good offer to pay.

If you are ready to pay $3000, just buy a decent project Alltrac that needs a little work. Tons of people want to do the conversion and I'm not going to be a naysayer and tell you it can't be done, but I will tell you that it is cheaper to just buy an Alltrac cheap that needs a little work and restore it. If this one was cheaper it would be a good parts car, but at this price it's not worth it, just my $.02. Good luck with your project.

They rarely sell these cars. I tried locating an ST185, but they are so rare down here in Miami, Fl. Not much luck 'cePt a salvage one. Sucks

The farther you're willing to travel, the more opportunity you'll have to find an Alltrac at a reasonable price. If you're patient and willing to put in some extra effort, you'll find one eventually.

If you're willing to pay $3000 for a parts car and then the cost of converting a 184 to a 185, you should be able to afford to look outside of Florida for a better base.
