Which OEM oil filter are you guys using (2nd gen motors)?

I accidentally found out that the ST165 oil filter (08922-02011) fits better than the ST185 oil filter for 2nd gen. engines with 3" downpipes. Previously, I found myself putting a notch (or dent) in the 185 filter to make it clear the downpipe. With the 165 filter, clearance is not an issue. Has anyone else noticed this? Also is there anything wrong with using a 1st gen. filter on a 2nd gen. motor? So far everything seems to be allright.

I'm using the 90915-YZZA1, the same one for 7th gen Celica.
It's kind of PITA putting it on and removing it, but it's doable.
Never thought that ST165 one is smaller.

ya but i'll tell ya what, I've never seen cleaner oil between changes. Like I can pull my dipstick out right now and it will be near the same color it was when I put it in. I'm so used to seeing black ooky looking oil from using fram filters and similar filters. They might cost a couple extra bucks, but they're always available and the autoparts store is about 15 minutes closer than the nearest toyota dealership, my laziness has a price.

I went from Bosch to Mobil 1 to Toyota. My color never changed
It's always been black within the first 1000m. Guess I give the cars too much hell :D
