its easy man...run a 0 gauge wire from the engine bay to the truck area and run either a 300 amp fuse or a switch at the battery.....put it in a box and ground it out to the strut tower or something solid....get a sealed battery and your done...cost me around 100 bucks plus the cost of a battery....used a battery box for a RV...

what about the grtound wire to the starter. does it need to be connected to the terminal or can it just be directly grounded

well ill give it a try doesnt see too hard

Search around on the forums here as. I see to recall there being a fairly in depth thread on the subject.

One suggestion I would make though, is not to cheap out on parts. For example, don't try and get away with cheap wire or a slightly higher gauge.

Edit;
I had the one thread bookmarked still here it is:

all that munbo jumbo about welding cable and such isnt necessary....if you get a 0 gauge sub wire that will be more than enough to do the job...i know cuz i did it and ran the car for months like that before i sold it....make sure to runa fuse or breaker on it and you'll be fine

its hard to tell what gauge it is...smallest you should go is 0 gauge....its alot more able to pass through so you have to go big...dont skimp out.....the way I mentioned is the cheapest route possible...a 0 gauge wiring kit on ebay is like less than 100 bucks....comes with a fuse and everything....

idk if this is the size but it says 4g on the wire.
That's because it's 4 gauge amp power wire. here is a picture of the difference between 4 gauge (red) and 0 gauge (blue)

Also the battery needs to be in a sealed box that is vented to the outside of the car. Batteries give of toxic fumes when they are charging.

A thing to know is if you go to a race track with your car, you will need a sealed and vented battery box and a cut off switch on the rear of the car.
