The 6th gen seats also have slightly thinner padding and deeper buckets which make them more comfortable for pasangers as the change in angle gives a bit more leg room.

I can post some pictures if you want

would love pictures.. are they bolt in?

They're close to bolt in. If I remember correctly I had to enlarge the slots for the seat bottom tabs. <10 mins with a dremel. I also swapped the 5th gen seat back carpet onto the 6th gen to keep the carpet color in the trunk matched. I recall there may have been some trimming or some minor mod to get those to work. I'll get some pictures when I'm working on the car tomorrow.

Did you ever take pics of those black rear seats? Would be a good option for those with aftermarket front racing seats.

Of course an adult isn't going to sit back there for a long road trip, but wait until you're hanging out with the family and your mom wants you to take the three little cousins to miniature golf. Toyota put them there for a purpose which is as auxiliary seating for short trips. Taking them out you lose that capability.

But specific scenarios don't matter, it's generally just pointless to gut a street car. If you can name a specific sanctioning body and class that you've competed in in the last year (SCCA Solo, NASA HPDE, NSCRA True Street etc.) then I'll eat my words.

+1

Either strip the interior completely and race or leave them in.

Where is the best place to store a leather bench seat like that so it wont get creased or eaten by creatures anyway... perhaps IN THE CAR?

My car is stripped since one of my passenger sat on a glass 26oz vodka bottle... vodka smell impregnated the back seat and it was giving me a headache (I have very little tolerance to alcohol since I don't drink). I just took it out and stored it in a barn... I use the extra space to carry school stuff and I don't get to lift more than 1 person so that's a win-win for me :)

Thanks! I was wanting to find out how well, especially the bench fit. I think this will be a better option to find black rear seats for me instead of trying to dye oem gray cloth.

Im working on a false back for my back seat currently. Im leaving the original bottomin and making a partition between the cab and "trunk" area. The factory seat backs wont fit with my strut bar I made up. Ill post some pictures soon.

Please excuse how incredibly dirty the car is at the moment. I can't see the facebook link posted but I think my seats fit well. There is a small gap around the drive shaft tunnel, but you would have to know to look for it to see it. (I tried to show it in the 2nd picture) I swapped the black cloth backs of the seats for the grey backs from my stock seats so the trunk area carpets still match.
