Alternator

Think my alternator is on its way out(ST165). Anything plug and play that will bolt in and give me a boost in amperage? Or should i just get a rebuilt one and hope for the best? Any shops in the RI/ Southeastern MA area that can upgrade mine? I'm thinking 70 amps is not all that great especially if I add a stereo. Any help will be appreciated :)

Nope. People who go with larger alternators dont want just a little more as it makes little difference

The "high output alternators" you see on ebay are just remanned alternators with an overdrive pully

I don't remember the name of the website but earlier I found a company that sells a 160amp alt for my alltrac for $285 or another option is to send them a alternator and they rebuild it and upgrade it for a lot less. I'm going to give them a call on Monday and report what I find out
