Power stays on after key removal in '91 longer than '90

Ok so here's the deal. Just after you turn the '90 off and remove the key, you can work the windows and moonroof and such until you open then door. However, in my '91, you can still work the electronics for some time even after the doors have been opened. Does anyone know what the actual physical difference is between the two years that allows this? My old '93 gt was the same way.

I would really like to replicate how the '91 acts for use in the '90.

Thoughts?

Do the door switches work in the 91? Ie do the door lights come on when you open it?

Most of the time. I can see if it has any effect though.

Mine is backwards.

Once I remove the key there is no power, but when I open the driver's door, power returns so I can close the windows and sunroof. It then shuts off once the door is closed.

Mine was built in Sept 89
