removing inside door panel with door closed

Postby dusty » Fri Oct 11, 2013 3:00 pm

I think the passenger door lock is seized on my celica st165. I can't get the lock to unlock to open the door. is there a way to get the panel off with the door closed? it is a race car so not that worried about damage, but need it to open.

I was told the power door locks can stop the lever from unlocking the door. any ideas?

try a slim-jim or coat hanger to unlock the door. I don't know about the 165, but the 185 door card has screws that are not accessible with the door shut.

got the panel off, you can remove in a st165 with the door closed. it takes a bit to find all of the screws, but it was not too bad. if you remove the door light so you can unplug it 1st it helps, not much room to work with the seat in the road.
