ST184 guage cluster issues

Postby AxelNavaja » Thu Jan 02, 2014 2:50 pm

Ok. So my old instrument panel want working properly so i swapped it out with a newer one. The rpm gauge now works, however the speedometer still doesn't Work and the temp gauge is still doing the intermittent dance it was doing before. Am i overlooking something simple here? Fuse maybe? Bad wires? Any ideas?

The USDM cluster has a mechanical speedometer, so check that the cable is not broken. Check the driven gear as well. Also, when you place back the cluster make sure that the speedometer needle is all the way. There is a section on the BGB on how to test the instrument cluster with a multimeter.

Big Green Book. Repair manual that covers these cars very thoroughly.

Also, are you sure your temp sensor isn't messed up?
