steering wheel tilt away disable

Postby aus jd 2703 » Mon Jul 14, 2014 4:32 am

might seem backwards to most people but I am looking to stop the steering wheel tilting away when I remove the key.
does any one know how to do it?
is it possible to keep the anti theft of locking the steering wheel from turning when no key is in the ignition?
reason is I have mounted a racepak dash to the top of the column so I don't want it being jarred up and down.
cheers

I know that it can be done because it's disabled on my RC, I have no idea how it was done though.

I thought the auto tilt was new in the 92 model.

Is this True? Just curious  . Mine has auto tilt and my ownership says '90. The guy selling it said it was a 92 though and paperwork was lost in transit overseas.. this would confirm the year for me!

It might be different for jdm/can cars but my usdm alltrac is a 90' and it has the auto tilt.

It is also possible that auto tilt was added to the GTS in 92 while the alltrac/gt4 always had the feature.

My 92 gets did not have it, but maybe it was a factory option.

The only thing I can think is its different for jdm/can/euro cars. Idk tho. Either that or a factory option that I guess the original owner of my gts didn't get. Same thing with the auto tilt button that stops it from working located on top of the steering column cover, that never made it to the us as far as I know.
