Climate Control System Compatibility (86-87 in 88 alltrac)

I have two options for climate control units to buy. One guy with an 86 gts and one guy with an 87 gts. Will either of these plug into the 88 alltrac and work? I've heard bad things from flyin_bryan about this.

Please answer quickly if you have any idea - I'm going to have to pick it up from the guy this weekend if it'll work.

I would guess that they are the same (auto climate control ones
at least since they were factory installed). Basically alltracs have GTS
trim levels (seats, seat fabric, radios, etc ....) so I would think they
are the same.

My understanding is that the 86-87 climate controls are wired up differently and not compatible with the 88-89 ones. I haven't actually tried it myself though, so if you're getting it for free, try it and let us know for certain.

They aren't the same... I bought an 87 panel for use with my alltrac, it's different :doh:
