Antenna Problems.

Postby PaulN » Mon Sep 06, 2004 6:59 am

Hi

Ive got a Celica Gt 1994, the Auto Antenna is playing up and as a quick fix i want to simply disconnect it. Theres 3 possible ways:

1) At back of the Head unit. Will have to take the centre console out.

2) At the Antenna motor. Im struggling to get to the motor quickly.

3) Along the wiring in between the Head unit and the motor? Does anyone know where the cable is (ie fed down passenger side Uk car). This would be my best option.

All i want is to stop the Antenna trying to come up when the sterea is on.

Thanks

There's a wire from the headunit that powers the antenna. You'll have to cut that. Best bet is the rear of the headunit, or at the antenna.

Thanks for that info. Any ideas of the size, position and colour of the wire coming from the head unit?

the antenna on the fifth gen can just be unplugged at the base, no need to cut wires
