Battery disconnect for the track

I have mounted my battery in the hatch to get much need space for my ic piping. The problems im having is that when you disconnect the power from the battery with the car running the alternator keeps it running still.. Not good, and the other problem is that i have a stock ECU and it takes so damn long to re learn and calobrate after its disconnected when the engines running. How can i make the car kill (without disconnecting the alternator) the power to shut off but still maintain power to the ecu?

you put a kill swtich in the back, take off your license plate, and drill a nice little hole, go buy a 5$ swtich and its track legal. The purpose of the hole behind the license plate is to mount that switch, so each time you go the the track, take the plate off and your set.

i believe you can run dual lines one for electronics with no switch and the other for the starter and alternator.

I struggled with this for a long time. In the end, it is a pain in the ass because a standard relay won't work b/c of the alternator.

Here is one possible way to get around it. Unplug the plug going to the alternator before you go through inspection. When they hit the switch, it will kill the car. Your car will still run, start, and drive for quite a while without the alternator hooked up. After you leave inspection, plug the alt back in.

You didnt hear this from me.

do u have a problem with the ecu reseting causing the car to run bad for a while? When i was testing out my swtich it took 50 miles or so for the engine to run good again up to the way i had it tuned..
