On the way back from Ontario, CA a 7th gen Celica GTS with dual exhausts, snazzy wing...etc. rolled up on me. It was really late at night and we hit a stretch of highway that was straight, clear of cars and had a good view to spot cops. I noticed he kinda stayed around me so I decided to see if I could get him to downshift by speeding up ever so slightly while next to him. He didnt seem to flinch so I let him pass me up. He must have been 10-15 car lengths ahead of me when I realized we were going a good 95mph. Thats when I heard his car scream so I decided to floor it too.
By 115-120mph I reeled him in. It probably only took 20 seconds at the most. When I got even with him I gave him a smile and slowed down. I know a 7th gen gts is still only a n/a 4 banger but I always felt like my car was sluggish and in need of a major rebuild. I also compare my car to my friends modded out STi which is a bit unfair.
BUT with almost 200K on my odometer, a transmission that likes to complain and a smokey engine @ 5500rpm my old salvaged alltrac still has enough kick to it to show up some of those newer upstarts :smokes:
