Is anyone else going to these? They're in PEI this coming weekend. I didn't see any other ST185 on the list. If anyone lives within a drive stop on by, all the information is posted here. http://www.nationalautoslalom.ca Its a three day event with a test and tune followed by two days of camping and racing. I compete againt some of the other cars regularly and don't expect to beat all of them but will be making them work for their places.

Sigh... Why don't we ever have any fun venues like that around my neck of the woods? Good luck and yes... Give them hell...

I Survived! It was a lot of fun most of the time, there was brutal rain the first compeition day which meant a wet day chasing cones and changing tires. There were only a few issues with my car that didn't prevent any running.

Car Setup:
GT4 RC
Bully Stage 3 Clutch (Carbon Kevlar / Ceramic)
2.5" Mongoose Exhaust
HKS BOV
225/45-15 Hoosier A5 Track
225/50-16 BFG Potenza RE01 Streets

Alignment :
As close to Whiteline specs with factory hardware
Front 0.5 Degrees Camber (Max with factory hardware)
Rear 1.0 Degrees Camber
Rear 1.0mm Toe out

Issues:
- Boost only going to 5-6psi. I installed a gauge a day before the event and didn't have time to trouble shoot the issue. This meant bogging at WOT and not maximum power. Need to solve this!
- Rear shocks are leaking...
- Stock Springs have way too much body roll, although the inside rear tire will still lift in hard corners.
- 225 Hoosiers are wider then most 225 tires. They rubbed on the shocks for the first day dragging badly. I borrowed some thin spacers for the second day's event before wearing through to either the cords or the shocks.

Drove up for the first day and arrived just as it was getting dark skipping the Test and Tune. It took a long time as my friends car's after run swich failed on his car and everytime the car shut off it would overheat and it doesn't have an overflow on the cooling system so the tank was starting to split from the pressure. There was camping, beverages, and Top Gear to be watched.

The first compeition day rained... Hard... It was a rough day in the rain. The course was hard to follow and see as can be seen in the number of people who had DNF on all of their runs never mind the number of people had some sort of DNF on some of their runs. I was in the last run group of the day and left my Hoosiers on. I couldn't find the course. I had two DNF and my fastest run included an Airport loop to keep me on course... Not my most impressive finish but I did get a time which is better than a number of people. I actually finished 76th of 100 that day. I was low in my class as well. Because my car is Japanese it goes straight to the Street Prepared class even though a stock Alltrac would run in DS (I go straight to DSP) running in a class that ended up won by a BMW and several 240s. I would need some serious modification to catch them.

There was a BBQ and some more camping the second night. Since it was still raining I opted to not sleep in the tent and instead sleep in the car. I've slept in the front seat before and deceided to try flipping down the rear seats and sleep there. It was a little short... So was sleeping across the rear seats... Not bad though, dry! A few of us sat in the car with an inverter watching top gear on a laptop before going to sleep.

The second day was a lot more fun. The track stayed dry and I could find the course. My first run was extremely exciting as I ended up getting the car nearly sideways when it came loose in a slalom at 70-80kph. It went sideways one way, paused, then back the other way. I stayed on the gas the whole time it was sideways and managed to keep it traveling in the right direction. My next runs generally increased in speed and my times improved each run. I acutally finished 76th again that day but beat a number of different people although some fast people who had DNF on all four runs had times and therefore finished ahead of me the second day.

I only have a few pictures as my camera had an incident being dropped in some water but I'll post what I have and some links to some other pictures that other people took shortly.
