Did pinstripes come stock on ST165's?

I went to start peeling mine off, but it looks like there is something raised under it - almost like the factory was covering this line up or something.

Anybody know? Most ST165's that I have seen have a stripe on them...

Both of my ST165's had them. One was early production Sept 87 and the other later FEB 88.

mine has no pin stripe

Then yours has been repainted.
Every 165 I've seen has the factory pinstripes.

Yeah, Toyota seemed to like the pinstripe thing back then, for some reason..

Mine has blue pinstripes and it looks to me as if the left side is a little crooked

The dealers were pinstripe freaks back in the day. I handed out many rolls of pistripe tape in my early parts days. So your answer is NO, its not from the factory, its from the dealers. It comes off easy enough, its just that the paint probably won't match after all of these years.
