Removed side door molding/guards pictures?

Postby toayoztan » Tue Mar 09, 2010 5:28 am

I was curious if anyone has a picture of their ST185 with removed side door molding/guards?

I saw a picture or two a while back, it was a red car. But I forgot who's car it was, and I tried a search briefly but didn't find any pics.

I'm debating if I want to leave mine off, as the body/paint guy I'm going through said he could weld up and shave down the holes if I got rid of them.

Thanks!

I guess I should give my opinion on it. It's 'okay', it works best on black imo.

Would I do it to my Alltrac?

No.

Thanks guys...I will have to sit on this idea for a bit until i make a decision...

I think the problem is, our side skirt area curls in so suddenly, it leaves somewhat a void in the side body area w/o the moldings.

With some decent skirts, I think the molding removed would look nicer.

i've always felt that the moulding provides some body to the side of the car as it is only subtley curved. If there were harder lines along the sides of the car, then it would be an easier decision to remove the mouldings.

I had them removed when I put a body kit on my silver car, but I don't think I would remove them from my All-Trac.

Thinking about this one mine now.. Seems like the passenger side molding is uneven. Anyone have pics of this on a lowered white celica by chance?

Did you weld in the holes or fiberglass?
