-Currently running 17x7.5 +35 offset.. have no problems..

-I have also tried 17x9 +30 offset. These will NOT work. They come right up into the suspension and will rub.

-About to switch up to 17x9 +22 offset and was hoping to get some feedback from people who have run this wheel/offset combo.

Nice job! Im glad someone went out and tried aggressive wheels on a 165. Can you run a little bit more camber or will the wheels rub the suspension? BTW what suspension are you on, stock or coilovers? I believe the clearances are different on each.

Thanks!! Running tein coilovers.. Fronts rub a bit but gonna adjust the camber to correct it. It shouldn't effect the clearance with the suspension..

Trying to run 17 x 7.5, Not 100% sure on the offset, but 215/50r17 tyres, rears hit struts, fronts just sit under guard, but doubt I could turn em. Now got a set of 205/40r17's to try, with 25mm spacers on the rear, hopefully sits flush, and fronts should be able to move, probably gonna roll the guards anyway, will let you guys know the progress.

what suspension are you running and offset? my last setup was 17x7.5 +35offset with that wheel combo and never had any issues.

I think the offset is +42 which is probably where my problem lies, that and factory suspension with jamex lowering springs. Once ive got the money, gonna go adjustable suspension, but that's a future plan.

6 inches of backspace is whats needed in order to avoid the rear shock on a ST165. This is measured from the wheel mounting surface and to the outer edge of the inner wheel. That will give you almost 9 inches of wheel that you fit out back/front, although I would only do 8" - 8.5" up front for turning clearance. Fitting 215 tires up front and 225 tires out back should be no problem.

Well rears fit nicely, with a 25mm spacer, and 205/40 R17 tyres, its about 1.5inch to 2inch clearance, between guard and tyre. Still gonna need rolling and flaring so it doesn't hit when I hit a bump, but is very achievable.
So i believe my wheel is +42 offset, 17 x 7.5 with 205/40 R17 tyres, and 25mm spacers. Anyone else wants to try this, it works.

Cheers
Vinnie

We're running 17x8 +35 Enkei RP03 with a 215/45/18 tire.

We've gotta roll the rears a touch, but otherwise they fit well
