Philly SCCA AutoX / Informal Meet Sunday 8/29 - Horsham, PA

I mentioned this to a few of the guys yesterday at the meet that I'll be coming down to the Philly area for an autocross & Dan and Flor said they were coming to stop by, and I believe Lamont said he wanted to as well. So I thought I'd just post the details here and make it open to whoever else wants to come down to stop by and watch the autocross and hang out...

I'll be there from about 8am until the event ends, which I'm guessing will be 3:30-4:00pm? I can't stay for much afterwards as I have to drive back home to New York.

Oh, ideally I want to run my ST185 and whoop a few WRXs, but I don't want to race it and have something happen and be that far away from home. So I'm bringing the British plastic car instead. ;)

Here are the details:
Date: Sunday August 29th
Time: From 8am - 4pm
Location: Warminster Community Park (Airstrip) just outside of Horsham, PA
Maps: Google Maps Satellite View: http://maps.google.com/maps?oe=UTF-8&ie ... 09409&z=17
(Parking area is the white concrete patch, entrance from E. Bristol Road -- autocross is on the airstrip).
Directions: http://www.phillyscca.com/directions/di ... Warminster

If you want to actually run your car at the autocross :) then you gotta get there by 8am to register/check-in/tech-inspection -- pre-register and pay online from their website:

okay, the car is all packed and ready to go. i'm going to sleep now-- see you all in the morning~~

my old friend who used to own an AW11 MR2 also, back when I had my MR2, is brining his 993 porsche and is racing in my class, so i gotta take the racing seriously... :p we used to have some good competition when we were both in our MR2s-- so i'm looking forward to the p-car vs. lotus battle... :)

hey guys, thanks for coming out~~ it was nice to see you all again, and i hope you had a good time there...

dan, did you post up any of your photos?? after i got home (which wasn't too bad until i hit lincoln tunnel going into manhattan), i thought i'd take a few more "alltrac and lotus" photos for ya... so i snapped a few shots just before the sun set, so color-wise it came really nice-- the teal of my celica with the blue of my lotus:

haha yeah thats why i was telling flor and lamont to get on the F-book train, cause it so much easier to upload to Fbook than photobucket....def faster servers.
though i may check out that picasaweb thing you use.

in one weekend i took over 800 photos.
not an exaggeration.

picasa (google) allows you to upload much bigger size and people can download the higher-res bigger size. and if someone else is a picasa desktop app user, they can download the entire album with one click to their computer. and you can easily direct link the photos into, say, a forum such as this. so i've been using that a lot lately to upload my photos quickly.

...whereas FB compresses the images a lot and you lose quality, plus it's much smaller in size. although it does have the advantage of you writing captions, people commenting on it, and tagging it (picasa now allows tagging too, but it's not the same cos there's no friend/social network behind it like on FB).

The alltrac is not a big car by any means, but next to your lotus, it looks huge.
