Hi all,
Just got an 88 ST165. The car has several modifications will get all those listed once I can get a complete list. The car is amazing or well I should say was amazing. Will try to make the story short as possible. Went to minneapolis to pick up the car. Everything was working fine. Start the drive home to colorado and everything goes well for the first 400 miles. Then the oil pressure starts to drop while cruising on the highway. Stop check oil its low so add a quart. Oil pressure goes back up to normal. Think everything is solved but 120 miles later oil pressure drops again. Insert another quart. This keeps up all the way home, every 120 miles. So ended up adding 4 quarts to get me home. The second part of the problem, about 200 miles left to go and the car starts to overheat. Pull of the road let it idle for a minute and cools back down. Get back on the road everything going well overheats 2 more times the rest of the way home. Any thoughts on what could be going on. having searched the forums sounds like it could be head gasket which makes me . Oil seems very dark/burned will check coolant for oil tonight but anythought on what might be going on or what to check greatly appreciated.
