Downpipe

I remember reading awhile ago that some people had trouble fitting a 3in downpipe on there ST185's but is this true with ST165's? Is 3 inch overdoing it? And how much does it block the oil filter? I have a 3inch ssac downpipe on my 165 w/185 motor and it fits okay. My only issue with it is the angle of the bottom flange isn't quite right and its hard to get it to seal. It will with a little convincing with a pair of vise grips. Its not hard to get to the oil filter. I think its actually a little easier than with the stock cat.
