AFM Coupler for ST165`

Hey Guys,

I just made an account to help out and give a part that I found will work for the rubber AFM coupler between the intake pipe and the turbo that is impossible to get. I spent two days calling different stores and driving around looking for something that'd work.

I eventually found this hose on McMaster Carr that fit pretty well. You have to use a good sized hose clamp on the Turbo side to crush it to size but mine seals perfectly.

Here's the part number: 53335k14

It only costs $26 or so (due to minimum 5' buy). Search that part on their website and it will pop up with what you need. I got the 80mm ID and 85.9mm OD tubing.

Hope that helps.

Home Depot sells an elbow that I´ve seen used by another member here. It looks something like this:

The photo is for Fernco Model # PQL-200, but I´m not sure that is the correct part for the turbo inlet.

Update (10/26/15): The Model # you want is the 3" diameter, PQL-300. It's not a perfect fit, but can be made to work. I cut off the larger diameter ends (a hack saw worked good), then had to soak one end in nearly boiling water to get it to soften enough so I could force it onto the metal mid-section of the intake piping. The turbo inlet outside diameter is about 2.75" so the elbow is a little too big, but the clamp was able to smash it down and it appears to seal. Now I just hope it will last a while until I figure out a better/long-term solution.

I've used the one above in a pinch it works great, I just stabbed myself in the hand while trimming it up, only five stitches and we still made the car show.

haha dude not a bad idea. That actually is nice for people that are in a crunch and can not find anything else. I just electrical taped mine, it is not to bad of condition but this is good to note.
