i m Christophe, from France
got my first St185 rally car 2 years ago , exchange against a bmw compact rally car
it is a group A car, with engine rebuilt in 2013 (300 hp ), dogbox serviced in 2014 with new competition clutch, all the electrical harness made in dec 2013 , front brakes upgraded with 4 pot caliper and 330 mm disc, coil over, .....
we take part to 2 rallyes in 2014but had problem with clutch at the first one, after 5 stages on 6 , wich was at least a great day, after 7 years without rallying ! for the second rally, we had a test day one week before, whot let us find a problem with the wastegate, so the car was perfectly running , but after the first service park , the engine began to work badly, heating a lot , and losing power ! we decided to retire after a very bad first stage .
when we dismantled the engine, we discovered that the cam belt pulley tensioner wasnt fitted correctly, and it caused the belt had probably moved from its rigt position , probably a few tooth , not enough to break al the engine !
camshaft and head had to be changed ! we now are in process to finis the engine, and will probably run the car in november to check what is in the Sybele ECU .
i Wonder if i will run the car in historic rally in 2016 or stay in modern rally
