Like the title says, I've got a code 52 and when I unplug the harness from the ECU the wire for the knock sensor reads as shorted to ground with ~30ohms. Before replacing the wiring I want to make sure that under normal circumstances I assume it should read as open loop? I just want to be sure since I'm gonna have to pull crossmembers and stuff off to get to it since there's no way I'll be able to get to it through the tie rod hole.

Because I'm impatient I pulled the exhaust and crossmember off, with the connector unplugged from the knock sensor I get a good connection from the sensor plug to the ECU plug, and an open circuit from the ECU plug to ground. I reconnect the both ends, fire it up and get an instant code 52 again. What gives?
