You'll have to take it apart and find out the exact VIN number of the car the tranny came from...some gears are different) Then you have to inspect each part (dog teeth especially) and see what needs replaced. It's not too complicated but you have to be very careful not to miss any spacer or pins... The BGB is a great way to keep things organized. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

BGB? well i will be doing with my teacher keepin an eye on me so that will definitely help. i want the tranny to be really good and solid so would you recomend replacing most of the parts or if they are good they will still be good? do you know about the rc tranny question? i know mine is not, i'm just wondering if the difference is internals. and what clutch would you recommend for street/track use? i drive pretty hard but don't plan on doing strictly track or autox, so kinda a all around one? lol. anyways, thanks for the help man! and keep up the good work. your car is good.

There is an excell doc around here that has a part number compatibility sheet. The 1st two gears are different as are the final drive and output shaft. RC and 205 have better syncros in certain gears, but all 92+ boxes are rumored to have the same ones.

You will have to check the doc. I know some parts can work for all generations but some don't. I think its in a thread in the faq section. Might not hurt for you to document your process as it might be useful for the rest of the community. Trannys are a black art here.

What special tools are required for pull down & reassembly?

The BGB lists quite a lot, but i gather most are not required?
