Clutches are different on early and late engines

Point A - I know, I was agreeing.

Point B - Again, I am aware that the bearing goes over the case, not the shaft itself, but the case outer diam can be different without change to the shaft diameter. I am not 100% sure on what the person found was not compatible - that was the problem i inferred from their comments - inner diam of the bearing too small to fit over the shaft (/case - they didnt go into detail, the comment given was essentially "wouldnt go over shaft" - which doesnt rule out case or shaft, but does mean its not compatible whatever). Of course they could have been supplied a wrong bearing also, but we will never know.

well i started out looking for info and boy howdy i found some, just not how to mate a 205 box to my 1st gen motor. ill keep looking though :D

Sometimes good to dig up old threads as some, myself included, may have missed it first time around :wink: Especially if it's interesting which this one certainly is!
