Year of vehicle

Hey I'm planning to get a short shifter soon and i just don't want to get burned by buying a twm for the wrong year. where can I check preciselyl what year my car is? i've checked the door jambs and the plaque on the firewall. the owner before me told me it's a 92 but i just want to know for sure 'cause i don't have the auction slip

Pop off the shifter cover and check the shifter assembly (the part that hold the shifter rod in place)
If your shifter assembly is plastic, your is a 92-93 version.
If your shifter assembly is metal, your is a 90-91 version.
Note tha 93 is a little different than 92, see pic below

If you have an RC, dont they all have the later style - plastic assemblies with shorter throw?

yeah, i checked this morning and bought it online this morning at school, it's a white gone yellow plastic housing. i'll be disassembling it next week to put in the new short shift 8)
