i was just wondering, how do i de-assemble the tranny???i've got the cover but the driver side off but couldnt get the center peice out...what are the things i should look for?
how to deassemble tranny??

Take drivers side cover off, remove 5th gear and 5th driven gears. Follow
the BGB. I remember having to make a special setup to pull the 5th driven
gear off (on the output shaft with the staked nut on it). Dont pry on 5th
gear, it wont come off that way, you will just ruin the gear. Once you have
this off then you can crack the case.

thanks...so the fifth gear is what's holding it from coming off right??according to the bgb, it shows how to take completely de-assemble the tranny but i only needed to take out the center transmission case where the gear selector is at

Yes you need to take the gears off to split the case. I remember something
about reusing 3 of the bolts, getting some really thick washers and putting
the grips of the gear pulling against the washers. Bolted the bolts into the
5th gear cage ? [you have to pull it off, then the 5th gear just slides off,
this is the gear you dont pry on, it will just break the gear]. Good luck
