Group buy is confirmed!!! We need 10+ buyers!
Now before anyone jumps up and screams YEAH let me get some things out of the way.
- 1 piece design (vs. 3 piece)
- 17lbs. vs 40+lbs.
- 1,000tq rating
10+ buyers and the price is $900USD.
S/H to the greater 48 States is $35
S/H to Canada, Hawaii or Alaska will be $60
International orders must be converted to $900USD and s/h will be around $200~$250 (Jim mentioned that most European shipping is around $200+ and anything further than that you'll start seeing that climb).
Money must be paid to ACPT upfront and when the entire batch has been made then they will ship the units out. I assume this will take some time because the quote I got was for about 3 weeks for one. Add 10+ driveshafts and you'll get an idea of time required
We can't go any lower and this is subject to change or revised. Mr. Martin may chime in here to answer any questions too. Again this is open for debate but please if you are interested again let me know.
I know that $900 might be high for some people but understand that we are saving a chunk of it w/ the group buy. I don't think we can wait too long so once the 10 buyers are in then they will be made and mailed out. If we have 30+ buyers the price will still be the same but hey at least you don't have to pay $1,200.
I will also email Robert to let him know about the GB.
So... Who's in since it's been confirmed?
Here are the interested buyers.

***UPDATE***
The deadline will be the 2nd week of March. This way we can get our CF driveshafts around April.
ACPT will take Visa and Mastercard (sorry, no AMEX or Discover). You will either email James at jmartin@acpt.com and just title the message "CF Driveshaft Group By for Toyota Alltrac." If you want to ask questions then this is the time to do it. If you are satisfied you can add your CC type, full name, number, expiration date. International orders I suggest you email him because it will be a $$$ phone call and you may not always get through to him.
James number is (714)895-5544 #220. This is probably how I am going to pay via phone.
The money will be put on hold from your account and will NOT be swept until they ship the units out. They will also ship them ALL out once they've been made. I suggest international orders to contact James and get an accurate shipment cost.
Just so we can get a head count please provide your user nick with the order. I will then contact James before the deadline to see who has locked in their purchase (I know some people don't like to use their real name online so this way is easier).
I've given my CC over the phone and over the net before. ACPT is a reputable company that has worked on Dan Gurney's IMSA RWD Celica. I'm sure that's why Pat and Jon either knew or heard of the company. I wouldn't be scared of passing your CC info to them.
Lastly the question of CF in cold climates. James mentioned that this is a common question for most Canadians and assures that if it hits -100degrees then it would pose a problem. As for the melting point of these driveshafts they do get hot since they're close to the exhuast system but since air is constantly being passed over them this should NOT be an issue.
