ST165 propellor shaft carrier bearings

Postby JohnNK » Sat Aug 03, 2013 1:04 am

I need to replace the two drive shaft carrier bearings on my 1988 ST165. How difficult will this be? It is hard to tell from the BGB. I have done strut replacement and similar work.
I have a good source for this type of part if someone is interested.

Unbolt the driveshaft section, unstake and unbolt the flange nut, press off flange, press off bearing.
Reverse for installation.

It might be cheaper to just get a steel 1 piece driveshaft made.
