Speedo Woes

So after all the recent problems with my Trac got fixed, the speedo decided to give it up. I know this is a fairly common 4th gen celica problem. Pretty sure its the gear in the tranny that drives the cable that died as its not spinning the cable at all. Is there a fix for this?

Could also be the cable. gotta take both pieces out, dismantle, relube
