hey!
got a steal on a 205 gearbox last night, picked it up from a local mr2 guy who did a 205 swap in his sw20. after sitting for 2 years i picked it up from him for $350. he said it was from a wrc 205. is there any visual ways to tell if this is true, i've been trying to find info on the differences from the 205 and wrc models, seems like its mostly with the engine, only found one thread that said they had strong dual cone synchs, is this true? seems like it is externally oil cooled with a pump. anyone have any experience with this? thanks in advanced! excited to get this in the st165 in the next couple of months.

I believe the wrc's were only different engine wise.

As far as the transmission goes, the two lines on the outside of the transmission are if you want to add an external transmission cooler. Its not necessary to add one, but it will definitely help out if you do. The pump is internal so no need to worry about that.

Easy way to tell is the lack of the FWD selection lever.

It should look like this:

Not like this:

Note the difference on the right hand end of the gearbox in those photos.
