Center diff modes help

I noticed in the BGB that I can switch a lever on the transmission from front wheel drive to All wheel drive. Can you guys tell me why I can't leave it in Front wheel drive mode in the summer?

Because if you put it into front wheel drive and drive... Shit gonna explode lol... Just don't do it that's it that's all
