Mental ST185

Today i was speeding up on a motorway when i started to hear squeeking sound from the engine bay, i stopped as quickly it was possible, popped the hood and saw smoke coming from timing gear, took it to toyota repair shop. They said it might be the timing belt tightener(spelling?) rubbing against the belt. :shrug:

So i left it there them to fix it, i don't have time because of school (and it'd took me ages to do the work, and it's my only car )

So im pretty pissed off, but im glad it wasn't anything worse it scared shit out of me when i saw smoke coming from the scoop.

I know some cars US Have made it to Europe

But your car has European mirrors & Euro front fenders,
(US cars did not get the white side markers lights).

The rear license frame (JDM? ) and US "All_Trac" badge could have
been added by a previous owner ? USDM is so cool ? :shrug:
US guys want Euro or JDM parts.

US front lights are orange as well.
US guys swap to the smoked lenses..

I have been wrong about my own car on a lot of things.
I had "Ceramics Power" on my IC and asssumed I had a ceramic turbo. :?

Which is it US air bag or JDM "GT4"; Momo out of a CS... ??
US cars are switching to JDM wheels all the time.

That can be installed. Mine is out at the moment.

In Germany and France; Both LHD markets, (did) does Toyota have a combination MPH and KPH markings ?
I don't know enough about Euro cars to be certain of anything..

If it is a USDM car, are there any US Departmanet of Transportation
stickers still on the doors sills ? Got a Vehicle identificarion Number # ?

I am just curious, As I said I have known a few US cars to make it across.

I had JDM mirrors on my car for over a year. I can add as many
JDM parts to my car but I would still consider it to be USDM.
( Only 1 person Ever noticed. I went back to the US mirrors soon after. )

Your car is a clean example. Nothing to put it down.

European st185 owners as far as i know, don't have any lust to add usdm parts on their cars, it's not cool. (I just wish my car would be european so it could have torsen rear diff)

In germany and france the KPH markings are on BIG and mph on small, in my car mph is big and kph on small font. (IF they even have both of them in germany and france).

And im not going to check out any codes for you, im not going to take any pics for you. You just need to trust me and stop being a pain in my ass, ok?

They might have meant the "tensioner". As when you change a timing you should change that too.

Seems you have some sort freak USDM / EURO hybrid lol. I think people are a little up tight sometimes. :shrug:

Why so much tension against GMan? All he did was just ask a few questions.. Thats how is going he (and others) learn about your car. If you felt that he was coming off strong towards you, then thats your take. But having conversated with GMan, he really means no harm, the more he knows, the better he can help you. I really do not see why he would go and attack you as to rebuke your claim of your car being USDM just to piss you off. Simple questions can be answered with simple answers.

With that said, you do have a magnificent car hands down. Really loving the black sitting on gold. Good luck and have fun owning and taking car of this car! I know I am with my car.

From what I have read I dont see Gman saying your lying. I do see him asking about details of your trac and personally I dont see reason to find offence. but not to cause distraction from your thread

Found some rust from my trunk last week. So i sanded it and putted some acid stuff on it (don't know exactly what it was got it from my dad.) and painted the trunk.


Allso washed her today...So fresh and so clean! 8)

Bought, a sparco pro 2000 today with 2x sabelt 6-point belts, used on a rally car. Still looking for another seat...Oh, allso got new wheels ill post up some photos of them tomorrow.

I sold both oem wheel sets i had, and i need two set's of wheels; one set for summer and one for winter.

Ok, so the new rims are RS Drift 16x7 Offset 45.

i like those new wheels better, too bad they are not 17's though. lookin good 8)
