i think its about time i formalized my plans instead of taking up space posting here and there. one year ago i bought a red 1988 all-trac from a guy who spun it into a curb and broke an axle and bent the a-arm and ripped it out f the body, possibly more. he then let it sit for three years until i came along and bought it for $1000, a little much but i just wanted it, stupid. on the plus side the car came with a momo steering wheel, trd struts all around, a short shifter, and an hks boost gauge.

BODY: its ok only damage is to drivers side front fender plus a little rust here and there.

WORK: replaced fuel pump with walbro, replaced turbo, replaced plugs, replaced head gasket with trd, replaced a-arm, replaced axle. then the head seized and ripped apart my timing belt.

and here i am now. waiting on parts for rebuild. topline gasket set, je pistons, eagle rods, arp hardware, king bearings, tte hg. planning on using 2nd gen head with minor port and polish and shimless buckets. going to keep the stock turbo and trying to keep it mostly stock.
i wanted to acid dip but time and money just dont warrant it. so eventually it will get a seam weld and full cage and skid plates. going to run the car as a pgt rally car. obviously going to run a stronger clutch. boost controller, bov, restrictor plate, 650cc injectors(shouldnt be a problem right, on like 12psi?), and some sort of fms, only because im not allowed to run megasquirt. some sparco seats, harnesses, fuel cell, lsd, exhaust, probably some oz wheels, battery relocation, too many little things to blab on about but i hope you get a pretty good view of my goal which is one trillion hp!!!!! haha jk more like 250. always open to advice from all you knowledgeable masters. anything important im overlooking? wish me luck!

as for suspension in my dreams i would be using proflex or ohlins but realistically i havent decided.

Good luck!

Are you keeping a stock ct26? You can run 12 psi on the stock injectors easy. 250 on the engine is also within reach of those 440's.
Bigger injectors need an EMS or Rom-tune. When you go EMS, it only takes time befor you want a bigger turbo. :D

Are you rebuilding the engine and head yourself?

i have to keep the stock turbo, might keep the 440's but what duty cycle would they be running in the upper rpm range? im having the head work done by my local automotive machine shop along with the bore and deck but the rest is being done by myself, its my first. i dont really have any pics of it but i'll try to get some soon, and definately some for the build.

I see you are trying to stay smog legal
haha not my intention. im actually going to keep the egr but do a secret block off so it looks like it works, rally regs you know hehe. dont care about smog, theres enough shady people in cali thatll do anything for a buck, havent smogged the teg in years last year i did it over the phone while a friend paid in person, didnt have time to go down myself. i have to try and keep it mostly stock to keep it in the production class, im already breaking regs with the pistons and rods and 2nd gen head and egr. but hopefully they wont notice besides it wont give me too much of an advantage with stock turbo and restrictor.

just trying to honor the history of the all-trac, haha. well its not like im going to use my advantages to produce alot more hp, im going to keep it detuned for fairness and if i do for some reason start destroying competition then i can always sandbag a little just like a drag racer. thanks it'll be my first attempt at organized rally but ive done a lil off roading in an old escort gt i had.

ok so far ive received most of my parts. still need oil pump, water pump, and timing kit. still trying to find a 2nd gen head, preferably that hasnt been rebuilt. so everythings in storage til then.
parts list so far:
je pistons
eagle rods
arp hardware
tte hg
full gasket set
king bearings

coming soon hopefully :
2nd gen head
shimless buckets
pumps
timing kit

should i go with ferrea valves and springs? stock cams planned for now.

havent decided on a clutch yet.

remember this is supposed to be a stock motor so nothing crazy/fun.

i know this isnt everything, all the little things are gonna be replaced but anyone have suggestions? am i forgetting anything major?

So my friends have convinced me to just go for an open class rally car which means this porject is going to cost a lot more and take a lot longer. No other real updates yet

Not much news yet. I've been livin at a relatives for over a year now and the cars still in storage. But if all goes as it should I'll be movin into my house very soon and I'll be in the garage all day.

Car will be completely stripped, chassis repair to drivers side front suspension, I WILL acid dip after then seam weld and cage. Everything not needed will not be put back on and everything else will be replaced/upgraded.

I had doubts about the je pistons but after consulting with my engine rebuilding/ machining teacher I'm going to stick with them after all but I wanna go with the clevite bearings.

Now that I will be saving some money by doing all the machine work myself I can buy more parts. Gonna build the best motor I can afford without goin with the stroker. Not even gonna worry about the turbo just yet because the motor won't be built until later this year. Most likely will go with megasquirt now that I'm not planning on staying production. Like I said no real news.
