well here we go... an update to the project, after much delay i finally pulled the engine
painted my lower A-arms and put in the poly replacement bushings.... I know white is goint to get super dirty super quick but i don't care. And I added another Trac to the collection...this weekend she got new solid rear diff mount from Luke (Klue) and all the subframe solid bushings. Hooray progress! while under there i noticed that one of the suspension arms ( on both sides) had the inner bushing replaced with poly where everyone is saying to go oem spherical... still not decided which way to go.

How was it taking the subframe down to put the bushings in.? I wanna do this when I get my kit from Klue. Is it pretty easy?

i started it late on saturday and finished it mid afternoon sunday.... so its not terrible i was planning on doing a how to write up on it... but it would have taken me forever to get it done in time.... this trac being my daily

** also if you dont have a shop press i highly recommend it, the actual job took me next to no time, but my PO had installed the stock bushings upside down which caused me to install mine upside down then i had to basically to the job again... lame but shit happens

That's not too bad then. Just like dropping the tranny. Wasn't too bad for to do the poly fill like I see you did ;) my car is also my daily driver.

Can the bushings be installed and removed without a press? I keep thinking that it can be done with a hammer and a piece of wood pressed on the bushing to get it in. Or is it far to hard to do a press is pretty much mandatory.

its do-able, i actually abandoned the press for a few of them...the angles didnt work out, but if you are going to go hammer method get a mini sledge aka an engineers hammer, and a bushing bearing driver kit...its cheap and will help a ton also grease the shit out of them.

word of advice when getting the old ones out, burn them with a torch, and use a small knife to cut the rubber around the metal sleeve...slam it out and then use a flat head screw driver and a hammer to get the 2 metal halfs out...clean the inside of the cradle and grease it slam the bitch back together. when you do it, if you have any questions feel free to pm me
