are those casters bolted onto the cross members? thats an awesome idea.

My only question is how did you get the car up high enough to get the engine out from underneath? Looks like the front would need to be more then 2 1/2 feet up?

This will be my project in the spring except I'll be replacing the entire tranny instead of the clutch.

nice work and its interesting to see the time frame on it

wow looks like down to the rivets on the clutch plate and looks like so serious gouging on the pressure plate - what clutch you planning on replacing it with?

-Terracar

no the car only had to be lifted a little to remove the engine. and I have a Exedy Stage 1 Clutch ready to be put in. Probably gonna replace alot of the little stuff to.

I think he wants to know exactly how the car was lifted to get the motor out. The usual method is to hoist the car from the bumper bar, but the cover is still on

Put left and right engine mount bolts in and an use those to lift...

Awesome idea for use of casters will be using that idea when i next drop an engine out. Top stuff....

are you going with your original intercooler? as in putting the same one back on. Just out of curiosity.

your RC looks in good shape. 8)

keep it that way and put some masking tape / latex gloves over the throttle body inlet & turbo inlet & turbo oulet, transfer case etc to avoid debris!

be well aware of a common ST185 weakness: steering rack mounting cracks!

we have just taken the engine out of my RC to inspect the bottom end bearings (A1 condition) , clutch (plenty of life left), hoses from hell, new water pump ......and sort out the steering rack.

the underseal requires scraping back and then welding & reinforcing >> when the steering wheel is wiggled you can see as it has flex and cracks open up on the bulkhead

please view the attachmnets, hope that helps

thats a good clutch just wears fast. i had mine 5k and the disk was toast. but i launched my car daily 8)

poor advice if your launching the organic disk all the time lol.
i had mine with over 70,000km no problem. no launching thought!
