what valves and size valves are you using?
im having a browse at valves for my engine as the heads the next thing. and ive read ferrea valves wont fit gen 3+ engines any truth to this?
also ko racing sell ferrea valves in 2 and 2.5mm over size so might be worth the extra cash to get it from ko for the extra flow.
nice progress, let me know how u go with the megasquirt ive heard good reviews but then a mate had one and swapped to vipec so im curious how u find it.

Stock valves.
The EPG does list a different part number for the valves, but they are the same size, so they must have changed material or something else small.

Did your mate get the MS installed and working?

yes in a turbo'd mx-5 was running a t-25 not sure what model it was.
he sold it shortly after blowing a turbo due to the crank angle sensor moving or something and it dumped fuel retarded timing and blew the turbo apart when it back fired, i guess like anti lag but worse. not saying it was the ms, it was the crank angle sensor. im curious on another opinion. he thought it was good for the money. it was probably an old model as he bought it over 2 months ago

There are 3 base models of MS, and you can still buy all three.
Then there are a lot of variations on top of that.

Latest and greatest is the MS V3.0 mainboard with MS3 processor card and MS3X expansion board, which is what i have.
Very powerful lil things.

Vipec's are awesome ECUs though.
If i wasnt going with an MS, i would buy a Vipec V88.

To run a MS you really do need a decent clue about automotive wiring, and fuel tuning theory.
You also need to take the time to read all the manuals.
To keep it cheap, you need to be able to tell a dyno tuner how to use the tuning software, otherwise they will spend days ($$s) trying to work out how to use it.

I was going to go with a Vipec V88, but the MS3 + MS3X has as many features for 1/3rd the price.
You can see the kinda features they are working on for it in here: http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewtopic ... 25&t=38967

I run Haltech in my st165 and MS3 in my Jeep wrangler.
I think both of them are easy to work and tune with and good info and support is avalible online.
If you are on a tight budget, the MS can´t be beaten.

Keep in mind that MS uses serial port, so a adapter is recuired if using an modern laptop.

MS1/2 are serial.

MS3 has a USB port.
