With work and the semester coming to an end, I've had no time to put into the car. However I was able to put in a a couple of hours into the head today. Surfaces are prepped and ready to be cleaned prior to being coated.

Been a while since I've posted anything here! Progress has been slow, but the car hasn't been forgotten! Recent work has mostly entailed a thorough cleaning of the engine bay and ceramic coating miscellaneous parts and accessories. Few new and old parts arrived for coating.

For those who have built these engines- is there any merit to aftermarket valves?

And because everyone loves pictures:

Few updated pictures. Coatings applied on the pistons and calipers. Valves are finished as well, but no pictures were taken of those. Still sorting out if they will be replaced at this time.

It looks like the same coating on both the piston tops and on the calipers. Piston tops usually get a thermal barrier coating, and calipers usually get a heat dissipative coating.

If you have a thermal barrier coating on your calipers, you may want to rethink that decision.

Different coatings. The inside of the caliper has a different coating that is more of a thermal barrier. The outside is a standard coating and is used as a finish coating. Thermal dissipative coatings are something I more frequently apply, but is not always needed. Remember this is s street car, not a race car. A thermal dissipative coating would work better, but a typical coating is also fine.

Well, after much change in my life I've come to an cross roads and have decided to sell the All-Trac. I'll be keeping the engine, ecu brakes and other misc bits and installing it in my 1986 MR2. Just picked up a newer daily driver and now have to part with the 'Trac. I'm in the Denver area and would love to see this car go to a good home. Will make a sale post here later tonight.

The daily driver is awesome by the way. BMW Z4 M-Coupe. And the MR2 will become my next project car and will have the heart of a built All-Trac engine soon enough!
