VW actually did that on purpose back in the day (their history of terrible ideas will never end). One of the oil seals or gaskets was designed with a tiny leak, so that it would constantly cover the underside in a layer of oil to keep things from rusting.

Ha Ha, I just watched a Netflix docu-series (Dirty Money) and one of the episodes was about VW and their diesel cheat. . they thought they were clever.

Well my driveway/garage doesn't agree with this method but at least there's not rust :)

I bought a pair of inexpensive six LED lights off Amazon I believe. I secured them to thick scrap aluminum I had laying around that I bent to the angles I needed and then secured with galvanized screws (the holes may or may not have already been there, I don't remember).

Sorry, another question about your fogs, Did you happen to wire it to use the stock switch, or did you use a aftermarket switch it came with?

Stock. . I also attached OE connectors to the lights so they were plug and play. Another thing I did was reroute the fog light wire (in the passenger kick panel) so the lights would work independently from the headlights as long as the switch is on. I can share that diagram I used if you wish.

FC Zach wrote:Premium, so far I really like these.

Update on these: I have a Premium boost and I presume a performance oil press and water temp. . The boost works great, I really like the peak memory and the high boost warning light/beep. However, the oil pressure gauge isn't functioning properly and initially scared the crap out of me because the pressure dropped! After a little searching I found that the senders they use are junk! At least for the performance line, I can't say anything about the premium oil pressure gauge.

I'm replacing my gauges with the AutoMeter Spec Pro line. . well, one at a time at least (they're a little more expensive than the ProSports). First up is the oil pressure gauge (P32532) https://www.autometer.com/2-1-16-oil-pressure-0-120-psi-spek-pro-black-black.html
These gauges will clash with the stock instruments much less than the Prosport gauges I currently have, it's a plus that these have a green backlight option too.
