Haha, I installed the same rad a few weeks ago to replace my broken radiator! It's a little too big for my application, I don't track my ST185, but it is so cheap and I had a slim radiator fan laying around... :)

It really is a good rad, the only complain I have with it is the shipping method, they use canada post here and the box was in pretty bad shape, and I couldn't return it since this is my daily driver and only car but it wasn't bent or anything just two little dent in the middle of it, but it work great doesn't leak, I also used a 12'' mishimoto slim fan, mounted it in front of the rad on the right side (passenger side for USDM car). :)

Alright, more stuff :)

So I was lucky enough to score a ST205 WRC 97' for 300$. At this price I was sure that it would be rusty and in bad shape. But oh boy was I surprised, turns out it comes from a 38'000km car. All the bolts are new, bushings are mint and diff is in perfect shape aswell...

Alright so lately not much has been going on with the car, Im only enjoying it as much as possible :D

Sadly yesterday my Harmonic balancer failed and I had to get another one, I got one off a low mile blown 3rd gen, works perfectly.

Overall this econo setup is great, it pulls alot more than it did (now at 17psi 11.0afr wot) and is super responsive, no lag whatsoever. Handling wise its a beast. I was finally able to go to a track event tonight, I had a blast and I was in the fastest class, I was able to keep up with evo x's and sexual transmitted infections , and even beat some.
The rear Torsen rock, you get in the curve, hit the apex then wot all the way home and its like a walk in the park...

The evo X (fmic, tune launch control) clocked 26.928 on the tarmac attack
2010 STI (tune) clocked 28.654
1993 GC8 impreza (swap ver 8 sti) clocked 27.365
The Celica clocked 27.223 :D :D

I do have a video of the run but sadly I mis aligned the camera so its way to high...
Anyway here it is : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=We1PJBKum5Y&feature=youtu.be
The tire are trash, used (3/32) Khumo ectsa AST 205/50R15 at 31psi on 91 Saleen mustang wheels.

Few things are coming up,
BC racing Coilover with custom rated Swift springs (springs are already on the car, just waiting for the coilover)
Valve cover gasket replacement
I need to find out how to fix my power steering belt, it always end up loosening, even with the BGB torque spec or over torque...
Some chassis brace (maybe?)
New wheels and tire
Rear ST205 knuckle and brake
Magnecore Spark plug wires (sport 8mm)

So yeah, overall the car has been a blast to daily and race, it can still be a reliable daily drive/track car after all these years of punishment...

Alright, I got some updates for this project.

Lately Ive been working alot and sourcing parts but I got some time to work on the car. As you may know I bought a complete ST205 wrc rear subframe assembly, well I forgot that the rear calipers wouldn't clear the 15inch wheels....
Being broke I bought what I think to be the bes option for my situation, I got a set of Subaru Forester S wheels, they were the only 16inch 5x100 wheels I could source locally. I got the full set for 60$

When I got them they were rough, clear was peeled and corrosion everywhere...

Then I started restoring them, I sanded down the clear and removed the corrosion

Then I used a Zinc chromate primer

And the finished product :

After this I was finally ready to install the 205 brakes, I decided to swap the complete hub assembly since one of my hub was welded...

The springs you see came off the 205 subframe, I don't know how I got a subframe this clean...

New stuff today, I replaced my C-One coilover since the blew on every corner :(

Ill keep them and rebuild them for future project but for now I got some sweet BC racing coilover, BR-Type will be perfect for my use

I swapped out the springs for my SWIFT and adjusted to preload to 4mm, I'll see how this goes

Alright new update again, I bought some Project Mu Sport Pads for the front (B-Force) . Considering that I ran Wagner at the track its a pretty good update  .

Also my left caliper was seized so I had it rebuilt.

And the overall front setup

Thats it for now :)

Nice updates! I think that your spring rate numbers are not realistic tough. Let's say a common spring rate of 400 lbs/in is around 7 kg/mm... 120 or 140 would be like running no suspension at all!

I am pretty sure it's a typo! Should 14.0 and 12.0. I saw of lot of coil-overs in Japan with those spring rates.

Thank you for that, yes typo

Well yes its stiff but it handles great. I think its perfect but im sure alot of people would disagree,
its much stiffer than your average car. But paired with a proper damper adjustement it can be driven without any effort on the street. :)

Well small update, I wanted to take more picture but really this is just maintenance work. At the track both of my front wheel bearing were damaged, Im not exactly sure why but I ordered some Nachi bearing right away. I also got 2 front spindle out of a 92 GTS at a local srap yard. I rebuilt them with new bearing/seal, balljoints and Tie rod end. That helped a lot but I still have a very very slight ''play'' in the steering. Upon further inspection I noticed it was my right inner tie rod that is starting to fail. Oh, and I filmed a quick video showing how bad my bearings/hubs were; its not a pretty sight. :|

Soon ill update the thread with winter preparation and other boring things haha :p

It doesn't mean its right ;)
A lot of those numbers come from marketing, or catering to people that want to run with 0 ride height (=destroys handling).

I recently found out the tarmac WRC TTE 185's ran 8.16kg/mm springs at the front, and they were/are the best street handling 185's on the planet.
