Phew. I thought only the 3s/5sfe motors were non interference.

Today made some progress. Engine removed:

Disconnected everything and used the hoist to drop the motor on a rolly thing I bought.

Roll her out after I raised up the car. No pictures while it was in progress sadly.

I forgot about this as it slide out of the drive shaft. Left a nice huge puddle of fluid all over my garage.

Rear engine shot. The passenger side axle bolts were all stripped so I left it on during removal.

Minor surface rust near the battery area. Everything else looks pretty damn clean.

My apartment manager stopped by and watched me do this in utter awe. She laughed and said she definitely wants to see the finished project. Until next weekend...

I'm sure that's not what yer Apartment manager was really thinking  Those axles pop out so you dont have to mess with those bolts if yer axle boots look ok ...

I thought they popped out too but man they wouldn't budge. Maybe I'll give it more force.

Gently pull out on the axle like your using a slider hammer on them. Sometimes they will come out that way. You have have to move it around in quarter turns as you pulling outward to make it pop out ...

You can use an extra clutch fork and a hammer to pop them out pretty quickly/easily... You need to find something thank can 'grab' the axle and put force on it directly outward from the transmission.

Upon further examining the cylinder head for my 2nd gen 3SGTE I've seen several gouges along the cylinder head and marks along the cams. I'm not sure if the marks on the cams are normal though.

Ive got brand new hks cams in mine and if I remember correctly they have the same marks on them. I just assumed that they were some kind of tooling marks maybe from whatever held the cam while the lobes were being milled or whatever they do to them.

Ah well thats useless. The whole ABS system wasn't there anyway. The steering rack looks wet? It'll be replaced with a reman anyway.
