How close are the pistons to the valves?

Is there any chance that the piston will touch the valves if the timing belt jump few teeth?
I remember I read somewhere that the distance on 3S-GTE engines is far enough that even if the piston is in top position and the valve is fully open, they not touch...
If it's relevant, we're talking on 3S-GTE RC/CS engine.

Almost all 3sge and 3sgte are non-interferance motors with the exception of the BEAMS 3sge (vvti equipped motor)
